  Aspen is located 41 miles south of Glenwood Springs in west-central Colorado.  The Aspen-Snowmass community is the primary gateway to the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness and Elk Mountains, and nearby Hunter-Frying Pan Wilderness, Collegiate Peaks and Mount Massive Wilderness. The area collectively spans some of Colorado’s most unique geological features and highest mountain ranges.

• Boulder - Denver - Golden - Fort Collins - Lyons

  The Colorado Front Range stretches along communities that include Denver, Golden, Boulder, Lyons and Fort Collins. Some of the state's best hiking trails can be found just minutes away from these metropolitan areas, and offer an exceptional variety of terrain and wildlife viewing opportunities. This section includes trails from White Ranch Park, Golden Gate Canyon State Park, Hall Ranch, Heil Valley Ranch, Eldorado Canyon State Park, Chautauqua Park and more.

• Colorado National Monument

  Colorado National Monument is located just outside Grand Junction and Fruita Colorado, 19 miles east of the Colorado - Utah border. It covers 32 square miles of red-rock canyons, sandstone spires, and tree-topped mesas that rise 2,000' from the Grand Valley of the Colorado River. Activities include hiking through colorful canyons, climbing sandstone formations, and cycling the 23 mile Rim Rock Drive that connects the east entrance in Grand Junction with the west entrance in Fruita.

• Great Sand Dunes National Park

  Great Sand Dunes National Park is located in southeast Colorado, 235 miles from Denver, 167 miles from Colorado Springs, and 245 miles from Albuquerque. The Great Sand Dunes are North America's tallest, rising over 700' from the San Luis Valley at the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.

• Indian Peaks Wilderness Area

  The Indian Peaks Wilderness and James Peak Wilderness areas are located just west of Rollinsville, Nederland, and Allenspark Colorado along a 30 mile stretch of Highway 72. The Indian Peaks Wilderness was established in 1978, encompassing 76,586 acres of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests. Many iconic peaks within are named after American Indian tribes of the west. The adjacent James Peak Wilderness was established in 2002, covering an additional 17,000 acres.

• Rocky Mountain National Park

  Rocky Mountain National Park is located 35 miles northwest of Boulder, and 55 miles northwest of Denver, Colorado. It encompasses over 265,000 acres with elevations ranging from 8,000' in Moraine Park to 14,259' on Longs Peak. Visitors will enjoy over 359 miles of hiking and riding trails, 60 peaks over 12,000', 150 lakes, and 450 miles of streams. 5 distinct ecosystems and ecotones attract deer, elk, moose, bear, mountain lion, mountain goat, and bighorn sheep.

• Summit County - Eagle County - Clear Creek County

  Clear Creek, Summit, and Eagle counties are located 1 - 2 hours from the Denver metro area along the I-70 corridor. Major access points are located in Georgetown, Silverthorne, Dillon, Frisco, Breckenridge, and Vail. Wilderness areas include the Eagles Nest Wilderness, Ptarmigan Wilderness and Holy Cross Wilderness. Hundreds of miles of well-maintained hiking and riding trails connect these areas, highlighted by 14,000' peaks and innumerable alpine lakes.
